Steve Dyson is an award-winning journalist and editor who worked on regional newspapers for more than 20 years and is now a regular broadcaster for the BBC.

Steve launched Dyson Media Ltd in 2010 to deliver training, strategic reviews and crisis media advice to high-profile individuals and blue-chip organisations across the UK. Clients range from city council chief executives to Premiership football chairmen, and from international construction firms to leading housing associations.

 

He continues to work as a freelance journalist, writing regular blogs for media website www.holdthefrontpage.co.uk and features for InPublishing and Press Gazette magazines. 


Broadcast work

Steve's commentates on the media, politics, business and industry for BBC Radio 4, Radio 5 live, BBC News 24 and BBC Midlands Today, and is ‘Special Correspondent’ for BBC WM radio, where he has created and presented 30+ 'HARDtalk’ interview programmes. Broadcast training is one of Dyson Media's most popular products.

 

Industry approved

Many of Steve’s short courses in news, feature and web writing, interviewing skills, grammar, punctuation, proof-reading and editing are approved and used by the National Council for the Training of Journalists, where he also works on accreditation panels and as a syllabus consultant. Steve is a member of the Society of Editors and Birmingham Press Club.
