Steve Dyson has worked as a journalist for more than 25 years, and edited daily regional newspapers from 2002 to 2009. He launched Dyson Media Ltd in 2010, where he works as a media trainer, freelance editor, journalist, broadcaster and crisis media consultant.
Steve creates and delivers media training courses for private companies, public sector organisations and charities. He also provides strategic reviews and crisis media advice. Clients range from international construction firms to high street banks, and from Premiership football club chairmen to government ministers.
One of his regular clients is the National Council for the Training of Journalists, where he creates and delivers courses, is a syllabus consultant and examiner. Steve has assisted the development and relaunches of various newspapers, magazines and websites. He's a member of the Society of Editors, Birmingham Press Club and the National Union of Journalists.
Steve now edits BQ West Midlands, a leading business magazine, and writes on the media for InPublishing, Media Guardian and Press Gazette. He also blogs about regional newspapers at www.holdthefrontpage.co.uk.
BroadcastingSteve has presented daily radio shows for BBC WM and has created dozens of BBC HARDtalk interviews. He regularly commentates on media, politics, business and industry for BBC WM and BBC Midlands Today, and for national radio. Broadcast training is one of Dyson Media's most popular courses.
