Good media writing skills
This intensive but fun course is aimed at those who want to refresh and improve their writing skills. It involves a lively mix of interactive teaching and challenging exercises on audience, content, style, grammar, simple language, headlines, editing and proofreading.
Created by former daily newspaper editor Steve Dyson, the training covers everything from print to online, including news, features and PR.
Previous delegates include journalists, press officers, marketing staff, communications officers and small business owners wanting to create content for their own newsletters, websites, press releases and brochures.
Dyson communicates with delegates ahead of the course to find out their backgrounds and writing experience, helping him to pitch the training at the right level. On the day, those attending meet from 9.30am and the course then runs from 10am to 4.30pm. Full course notes are provided.
